Pay commission

•It is a commission appointed by the government to go through the change in salary structures for central governmental employees in India, which meets every 10 years.

•It makes recommendations on basis of cost living, economic status, job type, and it suggests changes for basic pay and allowances and the pensionary benefit.

•The 7th Pay Commission, the latest one that came into effect in 2016, granted 2.57 times the basic pay. Recommendations touched the lives of around 4.7 million central government employees and 5.3 million pensioners.

PSLV-C60

• PSLV-C60 is a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle mission undertaken by ISRO in April 2024, carrying XPoSat (X-ray Polarimeter Satellite).

•XPoSat is India's first polarimetry mission. It is to study the X-ray emissions of celestial sources.

• The mission's primary payload POLIX (Polarimeter Instrument in X-rays) measures polarization parameters of X-ray sources.

Panchayat se Parliament 2.0

•This is the campaign commenced by the Election Commission of India. The campaign aims to increase voter awareness and participation.

• Workshops and education help connect grassroots democracy to parliamentary processes.

•National voter registration drives, but special emphasis will be on the first-time voter.
