•INS Tarini is an Indian Navy sailing vessel (INSV) specifically designed as a sloop and was built in 2017 at Aquarius Shipyard in Goa, India.
•The vessel made history by completing the Navika Sagar Parikrama, the first-ever all-women circumnavigation of the globe by an Indian crew in 2017-18, covering over 21,600 nautical miles in 254 days.
•Named after the Tara Tarini temple in Odisha, this 56-foot vessel is utilized for ocean sailing training and to promote sailing skills within the Indian Navy.
Navika Sagar Parikrama II
•This voyage features two women officers, Lieutenant Commander Roopa A and Lieutenant Commander Dilna K, who are undertaking a significant double-handed circumnavigation of the globe aboard the Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini.
•The journey commenced on October 2, 2024, from Goa, India, and will cover approximately 40,000 kilometers over eight months. The route includes stops in Fremantle, Australia; Lyttelton, New Zealand; Port Stanley, Falkland Islands; and Cape Town, South Africa.
•The expedition aims to contribute to scientific exploration, including studies on marine microplastics, ferrous content in the water, and large ocean mammals. The crew will also monitor and report on marine pollution conditions.

•The lake stretches approximately 134 kilometers (83 miles) in length and is divided between India and China, with about **50% of the lake located in India** and the rest in China.
