Ken- Betwa Link Project

Published On:

•The design is supposed to transfer fat water from the Ken River in Madhya Pradesh to the Betwa River in Uttar Pradesh. This interlinking is aimed at providing irrigation to failure-prone areas in the Bundelkhand region, catering to around 10.62 lakh hectares of Land

•It involves the design of an altitudinous 77-cadence Daudhan Dam and a 221- km conduit along with a 2- km lair. The total hydropower expected is 103 MW and a 27 MW solar power is to be generated while about 62 lakh people will also be getting drinking water

•Environmental enterprises The design has come under review because of its inherent environmental effect, especially on the Panna Tiger Reserve. Ecologists are concerned with the fragmentation of niches and loss of biodiversity because the levee and conduit may inundate forested land

U.S.- China Science and Technology Agreement(STA)

•U.S.- China Science and Technology Agreement( STA) was recently renewed and amended. Then are some key points

Renewal and Extension The deal was extended for a new five years, from August 27, 2024. This renewal follows temporary extensions in 2023 and early 20241.

•compass and Focus The streamlined agreement now focuses solely on introductory exploration and excludes critical and arising technologies like artificial intelligence and amount computing. This change aims to address public security enterprises and insure that the collaboration benefits both countries without compromising sensitive technologies

•vittles for Safety and translucency The new agreement provides additional provisions for experimenter safety, data reciprocity, and translucency. It also introduces rails that will cover intellectual property and ensure that cooperation is conducted at an intergovernmental position.

Renewable energy

•Types of Renewable Energy Renewable sources of energy consist of: solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and geothermal. Natural sources with replenishment: These renewable sources can also be exerted to convert into electric power, heating, or energy, which will facilitate a healthier energy system.

•The Environmental Benefits Renewable energy reduces hothouse gas emigrations, decreases air and water pollution, and minimizes dependence on finite reactionary energies. This transition therefore helps to combat climate change and fosters environmental sustainability.

•Profitable and Social Impact Investing in renewable energy is creating jobs, generating profitable growth, and boosting energy security. It may even provide access to electricity for remote and underserved places, perfecting quality of life and promoting social equity.
